Awards : Awarded Optometrists Association Australia (QLD & NT Division) Clinical Excellence Award / Awarded Clinical Equipment Prize, for best performance by a student in clinical optometry

Being one of the first therapeutically qualified optometrists in the NSW, he is able to treat conditions such as eye infections, foreign body removal, glaucoma and allergies. Striving to be as up to date with education as possible, Fernando regularly attends lectures at educational institutions and conferences both in Australia and overseas. He has also given several lectures and supervised clinical students both in the optometric and medical fields. Fernando recently completed all the post-graduate units of Behavioural Optometry training offered through the American OPTOMETRIC EXTENSION PROGRAM. This has taught him that vision is not just about the eye . It is more about how the eyes work together, how the eyes work with the rest of the body, and how the brain puts all that information together.
